IMPORTANT! Healing Crisis

posted by Jacqui Olliver, AppreciativeMonday, April 19th 2010 @ 1:27 PM (1 ratings)    post viewed 248 times

This is SO important:
Whenever you partake in a healing session - particularly an emotional healing session, it is absolutely ESSENTIAL that you refrain from alcohol and drugs for at least 48 hours after your session.

During an emotional healing session, you open up and become completely vulnerable. What happens if you indulge in alcohol after your session, is the possibility of a psychotic episode or emotional melt-down (also known as a nervous breakdown).

This happens because you are completely open and vulnerable after your session. You have delved into the depths of your being, where you have unleashed an abundance of hurt and pain which has often been hidden from your awareness. This is a huge process for your whole body to cope with.
You need to be gentle and loving to yourself at this time.

Alcohol in particular is extremely toxic when you have had a healing. Alcohol is a depressant. In following your emotional healing session with alcohol, you are opening your psyche to connect with more pain. Alcohol will bring up for you the pain of past - in a totally random manner - without the support of your therapist (or healer) to guide you through it. This can have a devastating effect on you; and completely undo (or reverse) the benefit of your healing.

As well as this, it puts you in a fragile and delicate state of emotional (and mental) vulnerability. Please AVOID alcohol at all costs after your healing session. Drink plenty of water to nourish your cells and flush the toxins (released during your session) OUT of your body. Negative emotion and pain needs plenty of water to be completely flushed out of and released from your body.

You are worth the effort to invest in yourself. Be gentle and kind to you. Know that you are worth every moment of investing in your happiness and well-being.

I honor the Divine in you. I wish you peace, love and totality.
I wish you the peace that you deserve.

Arohanui,
Jacqui
